VEVC Enforcement, Suspension, and Removal
IEVC maintains an enforcement process to protect the integrity of the VEVC designation and to support safe, ethical practice. Enforcement applies to all credential holders.
Grounds for Review
- Practicing under the VEVC credential without an approved sponsoring organization on file, or failure to maintain current sponsoring organization information with IEVC.
- Boundary violations or role confusion that creates harm or misrepresentation
- Confidentiality or privacy breaches
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or prohibited services
- Repeated reliability failures (no-shows, repeated late cancellations)
- Failure to escalate when safety requires it
- Retaliation, harassment, discrimination, or exploitation
How Complaints Are Submitted
- Complaints may be submitted by clients, platforms, or the public.
- Complaints should include dates, description, and any supporting documentation.
- Complaints are submitted to complaints@[yourdomain] (or an equivalent channel)
Review Process (Due Process)
- Intake review for credibility and scope
- Notification to the credential holder (unless safety requires otherwise)
- Opportunity for written response
- Evidence review by IEVC and, for serious cases, the Standards Council
- Decision and written outcome
